On Thursday morning actually all ventures should stay back for a mun wai meeting. However it has being postpone to another date. Will inform you guys about it soon. Well that not the main point I'm writing this post. The main point is, during the meeting mun wai use this phase 'take it as i begging you'. Let me cut the long story short, WE, both senior and junior venture cannot cooperate. Mun wai don't want to see this conflict cause he don't want that incident to happen again. Which is all ventures and leader left the troop. Simple!
Continue from there, Mun wai share some of his 'tactics moves'. One of it is that we will shift back to section base training. Second, position is issue to all ventures; Assistant Section Leader (ASL), Permanent Group Scribe, QM, continue Venturing, Rover ( I think ) and many others which i can't remember.
I don't really care about all this but i got just one question asking you. Do you enjoy scouting now? With the conflict we had, the scouts attitudes, the SYSTEMS, the DISCIPLINE and many many others.
This is some quotes from OUR FOUNDER.
The secret of sound education is to get each pupil to learn for himself, instead of instructing him by driving knowledge into him on a stereotyped system.
Scouting is not an abstruse or difficult science: rather it is a jolly game if you take it in the right light. In the same time it is educative, and (like Mercy) it is apt to benefit him that giveth as well as him that receives.
The most worth-while thing is to try to put happiness into the lives of others.
Dear Scouts,
If you have ever seen the play Peter Pan you will remember how the pirate chief was always making his dying speech because he was afraid that possibly when the time came for him to die he might not have time to get it off his chest. It is much the same with me, and so, although I am not at this moment dying, I shall be doing so one of these days and I want to send you a parting word of good-bye.
Remember, it is the last you will ever hear from me, so think it over.
I have had a most happy life and I want each one of you to have as happy a life too.
I believe that God put us in this jolly world to be happy and enjoy life. Happiness doesn't come from being rich, nor merely from being successful in your career, nor by self-indulgence. One step towards happiness is to make yourself healthy and strong while you are a boy, so that you can be useful and so can enjoy life when you are a man.
Nature study will show you how full of beautiful and wonderful things God has made the world for you to enjoy. Be contented with what you have got and make the best of it. Look on the bright side of things instead of the gloomy one.
But the real way to get happiness is by giving out happiness to other people. Try and leave this world a little better than you found it and when your turn comes to die, you can die happy in feeling that at any rate you have not wasted your time but have done your best. "Be Prepared" in this way, to live happy and to die happy-- stick to your Scout promise always-- even after you have ceased to be a boy-- and God help you to do it.
Your Friend Baden-Powell
I don't know scouting to you is what but at least i know. Scouting to me is play, enjoy, learning, teaching, nurturing, a shelter from all troubles, answers for all needs.
I really hope we, the 20 of us, will made a difference. We, together, will made something big that catches the world attention or at least Singapore Scouts Association attention. Everything starts with a dream and thats my dreams.
In conclusion, I would ask what is your point of view? Scouting in Montfort? GOOD or BAD?
ARE you doing your part making this SCOUTS group a better GROUP or a lousier GROUP
Yours in Scouting
Shawn Lim ( Jester Gorilla )
