However it has being postpone to another date. Will inform you guys about it soon. Well that not the main point I'm writing this post. The main point is, during the meeting mun wai use this phase 'take it as i begging you'. Let me cut the long story short, WE, both senior and junior venture cannot cooperate. Mun wai don't want to see this conflict cause he don't want that incident to happen again. Which is all ventures and leader left the troop. Simple!

Continue from there, Mun wai share some of his 'tactics moves'. One of it is that we will shift back to section base training. Second, position is issue to all ventures; Assistant Section Leader (ASL), Permanent Group Scribe, QM, continue Venturing, Rover ( I think ) and many others which i can't remember.

I don't really care about all this but i got just one question asking you. Do you enjoy scouting now? With the conflict we had, the scouts attitudes, the SYSTEMS, the DISCIPLINE and many many others.

This is some quotes from OUR FOUNDER.

The secret of sound education is to get each pupil to learn for himself, instead of instructing him by driving knowledge into him on a stereotyped system.

Scouting is not an abstruse or difficult science: rather it is a jolly game if you take it in the right light. In the same time it is educative, and (like Mercy) it is apt to benefit him that giveth as well as him that receives.

The most worth-while thing is to try to put happiness into the lives of others.

Dear Scouts,
If you have ever seen the play Peter Pan you will remember how the pirate chief was always making his dying speech because he was afraid that possibly when the time came for him to die he might not have time to get it off his chest. It is much the same with me, and so, although I am not at this moment dying, I shall be doing so one of these days and I want to send you a parting word of good-bye.
Remember, it is the last you will ever hear from me, so think it over.
I have had a most happy life and I want each one of you to have as happy a life too.
I believe that God put us in this jolly world to be happy and enjoy life. Happiness doesn't come from being rich, nor merely from being successful in your career, nor by self-indulgence. One step towards happiness is to make yourself healthy and strong while you are a boy, so that you can be useful and so can enjoy life when you are a man.
Nature study will show you how full of beautiful and wonderful things God has made the world for you to enjoy. Be contented with what you have got and make the best of it. Look on the bright side of things instead of the gloomy one.
But the real way to get happiness is by giving out happiness to other people. Try and leave this world a little better than you found it and when your turn comes to die, you can die happy in feeling that at any rate you have not wasted your time but have done your best. "Be Prepared" in this way, to live happy and to die happy-- stick to your Scout promise always-- even after you have ceased to be a boy-- and God help you to do it.
Your Friend Baden-Powell

I don't know scouting to you is what but at least i know. Scouting to me is play, enjoy, learning, teaching, nurturing, a shelter from all troubles, answers for all needs.

I really hope we, the 20 of us, will made a difference. We, together, will made something big that catches the world attention or at least Singapore Scouts Association attention. Everything starts with a dream and thats my dreams.

In conclusion, I would ask what is your point of view? Scouting in Montfort? GOOD or BAD?

ARE you doing your part making this SCOUTS group a better GROUP or a lousier GROUP

Yours in Scouting

Shawn Lim ( Jester Gorilla )

Packing List

Things To Bring:

-2 dollar (bus)
-Poncho ( Exco 15 bring umbrella also)
-Full Uniformed
-3 Set of clothes ( including one long pants, 3 white shirt ( safety reason ) )
-3 Set of undergarments
-Utensils ( including mug )
-Torch
-2 Pair of Sock
-1 Pair of Sport Shoes
-1 Pair of slippers or sandals
-Personal medication
-Towel
-Toiletries
-Writing Materials
-Mosquito Coil ( Not Compulsory, lighter will be need )
-Powder ( Not Compulsory )

What Not To Bring:

-Cash More Than 20 Dollar
-MP3
-Snack
-Head Set
-Cameras
-Magazine
-Alcohol

Report TOMMOROW @ 6.30AM, LASTEST 6.45AM.
If you want to bring other stuff, which I strongly disencourage, you bring it at you own risks. Please behave in front the Scouts. WE want them to be firm to be good to be discipline. But if their leader isn't setting good example, what the point punish them. Hope you understand what I trying say here. You can play but behind the scouts no in front of them.

Secondly, in future let us have one SPEAKER. Especially when passing down message, I don't want so many ventures to give the information to the scouts. Like the morning announcements, only one person speaks. Hope you able to understand what I’m talking here.

Next point which is relate to previous problem. Whenever there is someone speaking in front, can the rest of the ventures move to one side? So that scouts can focus. Since when you see when Mun Wai talks, all ventures stay directly behind him. We are either in the room or doing other stuff at one corner but definitely not in front the scouts or behind him.

Finally to the senior ventures, I'm sorry for shouting at you guys that time. You guys should know I mean. Justin, I’m sorry. But I would appreciate if you could keep the penis or anything that not relate to scout to yourself. You can say all you want but definitely not in front the scouts. They got ear, they got eyes. The reason why I scolded you that time is because even though I stand quite far away front you, I still able hear and see.

Surely, if you guy is not happy with the problem I posted. You can always write a comment to me. And I will publish and give you a reply for it. I'm serious for scout. I'm not sure about you; I dare to say that NCDCC is even better then us in some area. Don't you feel ashamed? They have less then 3 years history in Montfort, yet they can be better then us in some area. That what I feel at least. Hey guys, when things does not go our ways, if we are stuck with certain things, all we got to do is overcome it or find a better way. For example, Mun Wai say no pumping, we ask them run. Not foot drill, we do physical training. Come on, be creative and don’t stick with old system. This blog is for us. For us to voice out, for us to point out mistake and improve on it. Is not for me to voice out ONLY. Please, is time to get serious?

Meeting for campfire

Dear committee,

I'm quite sure you are understand the word committee. Meaning a group of people who are committed. I know is hard to fork out time for meeting but sometimes we just got to sacrifice our own activities to attend the meeting.

Hey, I'm quite sure you know what am i talking about. I don't which to see such thing happen again. Anyway i have something to affirm the ic, you all did well by asking another person to come and take over you for the meeting. This is good, responsible! But i am not encouraging you to do that.

Next, in future if there is any information being pass down to anyone, please, send the information by sms to the rest. I got no idea how you guys do it, every time when the information was being finally passed to me it is always the wrong information. I will discuss it with you all on how to reduce such accident on Sat.

Finally, for goodness sake, can you all just stick to the original meeting timeline. Don't just change the meeting time as and when you like. Is irresponsible! Furthermore, you all never check with one and other time table, especially me. One say 230 one say 330 one say 430. SO PLEASE, just stick to the original information you have. The one and only person who can change is the overall ic ( MUN WAI). Because without him, what the purpose we are meeting?

This is not complaining, but just pointing out what you all can improve on certain OK. Hey, let's be sensible enough, know what to do what not to do.
